The Second Annual Family Summer Fun Day
Manitoba Great
Wall Performing Arts Inc. held its 2nd annual Family Summer Fun
Day at the Assiniboine Park on Saturday June 26th, 2004 at 2.00
p.m. What started to be a cloudy, rainy morning turned out to be
a beautiful sunny afternoon!
There were
approximately 50 people in attendance and I can honestly say
that every single person took part in some sort of games or
sports. The games were fun, entertaining and healthy for any
age. We played Balloon race, Carrots Olympics, Charade, and
Taboo¡of course, there were prizes awarded to the best athlete.
Some of the sports played were Volleyball, Soccer and Badminton.
Who can forget ¡¡ãGreat Wall Idol¡¡À? The participants sang
their hearts out and they were absolutely wonderful. We
certainly have some talented young singers in the
group¡including Gary and Kevin. Prizes were awarded again to
all singers.
The food was,
needless to say, DELICIOUS. Not only did MGWPA provide us with
Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Beef & Vegetable, and Chicken & Vegetable
but each family also brought their specialty for us to taste.
There was also a contest for the tastiest dish.
To sum up, this
event was once again a successful one. The goals were for
everyone to have fun, get to know each other by networking and
we certainly reached those goals.
