2006 Moon Festival Banquet
Dinner
Manitoba Great Wall Performing Arts Inc.
(MGWPA) held its 4th Annual Moon Festival Banquet
Dinner on September 23rd, 2006, at the Kum Koon
Garden Restaurant.
MGWPA’s Vice-President, Rosana Leung Shing and Honorable Board
Member, Eddy Lau co-hosted this fabulous event. Over 500 guests
were in attendance. The dinner consisted of 10 authentic Chinese
dishes and Moon cakes. Entertainment was also provided during
dinner. Dancers of the Manitoba Great Wall Performing Arts Inc.
presented two beautiful dances, which included a Chinese folk
dance (Celebrating the Fire Brand Festival), and a Chinese
modern dance (Descendents of the Dragon). There was also a Kung
Fu demonstration, and a Chinese Instrumental performance. The
evening would not have been complete without the calling of the
silent and rainbow auctions. Some of the silent auction items
included an air trip for one from Winnipeg to Toronto, a
gorgeous diamond and gold brooch, a beautiful watch…. just to
name a few. After dinner, the volunteers and members danced and
sang until closing time.
“I think the banquet this year is the best
since MGWPA has been founded.” A guest commented.
“The dances are very beautiful. The girls are all very pretty,”
said Dr. Du, President of the Chinese Cultural and Community
Centre.

2007 (date to be confirmed).
MGWPA sincerely thank all the donors and volunteers of the 4th
Annual Moon Festival Banquet Dinner. This would not have been
possible without the hard work and support of all involved.
Funds generated from this event will be directed to the 2007
Spring Festival show at Pantages Playhouse Theatre.
