SPECIAL REPORTS

From the desk of the Guai Lo:

As always, the Manitoba Great Wall Performing Arts Inc. delivers an incredible evening with food and performances that defy expectations!

Throughout the evening we were treated with excellent performances by this MGWPA Dance Group, from traditional Chinese to Latin dance. The dancers prove what exceptional talent the Chinese community has to offer.  Along with the dancers, the audience was treated to a display of skill and talent from the Red Mantis Athletic Association, with a number of Praying Mantis Kung Fu routines. Joan Gan proceeded to astound the audience with her mastery of the zheng, a traditional Chinese instrument.

The MC’s, Rosana Leung Shing and Eddy Lau, kept the evening light, and moving along at a good pace.  There was great chemistry between the duo, and was obvious both were having a fantastic evening.

And the food.  How could we forget the food.  Kum Koon Garden presented an amazing 10 course meal, ranging from simple dishes like fried rice or noodles, to a more unique fair, such as braised lobster and deep fried pickerel.  The meal spanned two and a half hours and was sure to kill even the most hardened dieters resolve!

To all involved in this years event, excellent job and cannot wait to see how you top this next year!

 Many thanks,

 Jon Paintin
