Great Wall Dance Academy of Canada (GWDAC) is an affiliation of Manitoba Great Wall Performing Arts Inc. GWDAC has established since March 2007 by a professional dance choreographer and instructor Ms. Yun Cheng and an amateur dancer Ms. Yilan Zhang, who is enthusiastic in promoting Chinese culture. GWDAC aims at offering high quality dance classes to help each student develop their passion in dance and fully reach their dance potential. The majority of our dance program will focus on educating dancers to understand and recognize Chinese dance culture, and therefore to establish the esthetics of Chinese dance, and the connection between dance and healthy life style. We hope to explore ourselves to possible communication between Chinese dance and western dance. We also hope to enrich cultural life for the local community by providing different kinds of dance classes and performance opportunities.

Our school has developed a dynamic dance program, including Chinese traditional dance, Chinese contemporary dance, lyrical dance and Asian hip hop, etc. Our students’ age range from 3-50. We also provide ample performing opportunities throughout the year, including possible opportunities of attending performances and dance competitions in China or other cities in North America. Most of our students have already participated in several performances this year, including a charity show for Shou Hao (an international student suffering from cancer), Asian Heritage Month, North American Lion Dance Competition, and Folklorama.

Students from all ages and different ethnic backgrounds are welcome!
